Served as the lead web developer on the Spanish Listening Comprehension course. This course is designed to help U.S. Department of State employees maintain their Spanish listening skills while on assignments in non-Spanish speaking locations. The course makes use of authentic Spanish media discussing current topics. The course is being developed in XML, HTML and JavaScript. The course is intended to run in Internet Explorer from a CD.

These seven courses introduce U.S. Department of State employees to the issues related to intellectual property including: patents, copyrights, trademarks, traditional knowledge and folklore, geographic indications, and industrial design. The courses present the U.S. views and International laws related to intellectual property. The courses are being developed in XML, HTML and JavaScript. When completed, the courses will be loaded on a LMS and run in Internet Explorer.

Served as the lead web developer on the Foreign Service Institute New Employee Orientation. This orientation CD was designed to provide new U.S. Department of State employees at the Foreign Service Institute with information about their benefits, Department of State rules and regulations and access to forms required for employment. The course was developed in XML, HTML and JavaScript. The orientation program runs from a CD in a variety of common web browsers including Internet Explorer, Netscape and Firefox.

Curriculum Developer and CBT Lead

Served as a curriculum developer on the eCustoms Modernization project. Worked with subject-matter experts to gather content for two, three-day instructor-led training (ILT) courses. Designed the ILT course content in Microsoft PowerPoint. Wrote the instructor guide and student exercises. Served as the team leader for the 12 hour CBT course created in Macromedia Authorware. Designed and programmed the CBT course content. All of the courses teach the basic functionality of the ACE Secure Data Portal.

Served as a CBT developer on the MedDRA CBT project. Used Click2Learn ToolBook to update an existing CBT on the Medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities (MedDRA). Developed two versions of the Introduction of MedDRA Basics CBT. Also created a new CBT logon, course menu, and bookmark functionality

AMS: Elevator Support Unit (ESU) Instructional Simulation Tool (IST)
February 2001 to July 2002
Lead Multimedia Programmer

Served as lead multimedia programmer on the ESU IST project. Used Click2Learn's ToolBook II Instructor to develop the IST for the Navy Nimitz-Class aircraft carrier weapons elevators. An IST is a hybrid of Computer-Based Training, Electronic Performance Support Systems, and Simulation. It includes "Show Me" and "Try It" interactions and incorporated step-by-step instructions synchronized with audio and video to present the normal operating procedures. It also includes animations that demonstrate mishaps that can result from common mistakes.

Created the storyboard template and several utilities for the instructional designers. Recreated functionality of several weapons elevator control stations. Created the IST menu and programmed the basic functionality for the "Show Me" and "Try It" interactions. Documented the programming standards and version control process, and programmed topics and simulation modules. Also created a utility that generates a Test Script for the "Show Me" and "Try It" interactions from the programmed topic. Mentored two instructional designers and managed two ToolBook developers.

AMS: Procurement Desktop-Defense (PDČ) CBT v4.2

Lead ToolBook Programmer

Served as lead ToolBook programmer for the PDČ CBT Project. The PDČ CBT is a 25-hour CBT developed for AMS's Procurement Desktop-Defense version 4.2. The CBT was developed with Click2Learn's ToolBook II Instructor. Recreated functionality of the PDČ application for use in student interactions. Managed the effort of five programmers. Programmed CBT topics, reviewed all programmed topics, and coordinated the SME reviews and other internal tests.

AMS: Hawaii ITIMS CBT

Technical Advisor and Senior ToolBook Programmer

Served as Technical Advisor to the lead developer on the Hawaii ITISM CBT project and as a senior ToolBook programmer. The ITIMS CBT was developed for the end-users of the Integrated Tax Information Management System (ITIMS). It was developed with Click2Learn ToolBook II Instructor. Mentored the lead CBT developer, helped set development schedule, created utilities that helped designers and developers do their jobs more efficiently, and programmed CBT topics and quiz modules.

Served as Web Developer on the Qwest Co-Provider Training Project. Developed a web-based course catalog and registration system for Qwest's Co-Provider Training. The course catalog was created in Dreamweaver. Managed another web developer on the project.

AMS: Software and Multimedia Production (SWAMP) Team

Served as the Team leader for the SoftWare and Multimedia Production (SWAMP) Team. Responsible for managing 12 CBT/WBT developers and 2 graphic artists. Made the project assignments, set the performance expectations, and provided mentoring and coaching for the members of the SWAMP team. Also responsible for recruiting new developers and graphic artists.

Lead ToolBook Programmer

Served as the lead programmer for the 30 hours of the PDČ CBT. The PDČ CBT was a Computer-Based Training developed for Version 4.1 of AMS's Procurement Desktop-Defense application. The CBT was developed with Click2Learn's ToolBook II Instructor. Designed the storyboarding tool and several utilities to help the designers complete their detailed designs. Responsible for coordinating the effort of two programmers. Also reviewed the work of a sub-contracting company that was responsible for an additional 10 hours of CBT.

AMS: FMS CBT

Lead ToolBook Programmer

Served as the lead programmer for the 100 hours of the FMS CBT. The CBT was developed for the end-users from the City of New York who use the Financial Management System (FMS). The CBT simulates the functionality of the FMS system and provides an interactive environment for the students. The CBT was developed with Click2Learn's ToolBook II Instructor. Designed the storyboarding tool and several utilities to help the designers complete their detailed designs. Responsible for coordinating the effort of three or four programmers.

AMS: STRATA Help Nuggets
November 1997 to March 1998
Senior ToolBook Programmer

Served ast the programmer for a series of 35 nuggets for the STRATA System. STRATA is a decision-making or strategy building system that can be used with a customer billing or collections system. The STRATA help nuggets can be launched directly from the STRATA help file. The nuggets are designed to help the user understand how to complete a task in STRATA. When the user launches one of the help nuggets, they are given two choices, "Show" or "Try". When the user selects "Show", they watch a simulation that shows how to complete the task. When the user selects "Try", they have the opportunity to try to complete the task. Once the user understands how to complete the task, they can return to the actual STRATA system. Recreated much of the functionality of the STRATA system in the help nuggets.

AMS: RISER CBT
January 1997 to September 1997
Senior ToolBook Programmer

Served as one of two ToolBook Programmers who worked on the RISER CBT. The CBT was developed for AMS's RISER application. The CBT was developed with Asymetrix Multimedia ToolBook. Responsible for the 20 hours of CBT including audio. Developed the user interface and worked with the graphics artists to arrange all graphics for the CBT. In addition, created the course management system.

AMS: AT&T Risk Simulation
September 1996 to December 1996
Senior ToolBook Programmer

Served as the senior ToolBook programmer for the AT&T Risk Simulation project. The project included a 12-month simulation that demonstrated various cause and effect relationships and Customer Usage and Collection trends. The simulation was developed in Multimedia ToolBook. Also assisted in the delivery of the course pilot. Created the risk simulation's interface and all project graphics.
